Weaving Stories to Build Peace in Relationships, Families, and Communities
First Voice
We root our research in ‘first voice’ expertise and share this knowledge with communities.
Addressing Systemic Trauma
Our work elevates the voices of those directly impacted by systemic responses that are often harmful and add further layers of trauma.
Creative Sharing
We incorporate creative ways to share our findings that include the use of film, media, reports and publications and community presentations and workshops.
Research to End Family Violence
We are engaged in research to end gender-based and family violence. We advocate for a paradigm shift in responses to violence that requires a move from punishment to the provision of support. Our work is guided by a peacebuilding framework that centres cultural and structural violences, including colonization, as root causes of direct violence. This moves from a narrow focus on individuals to implicate a societal response. We believe individuals and families who experience violence in their relationships require resources, programming and community support that is trauma and violence-informed and family-centred.
